But, Wait! There's More!

The rag quilt got done last week but I just haven't taken time to update the blog. The many months (years?) it took to git 'er done was worth the wait. The guest room has been waiting patiently for this improvement. It was a fun project and didn't need to take that long, but was a welcome diversion from gardening and winter!

So, guests of Catfish Corner, you will be well covered and have turnips to boot (read on) !

What Were The Chances?

The recent trip to Eau Claire resulted in NO blue bandana fabric. I bought all that was available at Mill End when I originally picked out fabric for my rag quilt and there was none to be had when I went back.

Ditto for the lovely new JoAnn Fabric in EC, a only a glaringly different pattern was available at Hancock Fabric--a possibility if I can't find a match.

So what else could I do? Well--what I should have done in the first place. CHECK EBAY!

A quick search of "blue bandana fabric" resulted in about a dozen selections and MIRACLE! there was an exact match--and all they had left were two yards. So I took both and they were shipped quickly from Chandler, AZ! The project continues--

Get Ripped in 365 Days!

Well, the jeans were ripped and I've had them for over 365 days, in a pile cut into 6" squares for the magnificent rag quilt and pillows that I envisioned for the guest bedroom. I think quilting is going to be one of those things that I had better start out big because I probably won't want to do it again. Technically this is called a rag quilt and there is no quilting involved. It's a pretty rustic looking production which should fit right in around here.

I was pretty happy to get the two pillows done and several more strips on the main quilt. Until I ran out of blue bandana squares. Drat. That old "planning ahead" thing popped up. A trip to the fabric store is planned in the near future before I lose interest and go onto something else.
